TZU-YANG ALEX HUANG is a knitwear designer and multidisciplinary textile artist from Taiwan. After spending eight years in Shanghai, he is now based in London. He graduated with a BA in Fashion Design with Knitwear from Central Saint Martins in 2021 and earned an MA Fashion from the Royal College of Art in 2023.
Specializing in three-dimensional sustainable knitting and craftsmanship, Alex is driven by a passion for pushing boundaries and redefining the possibilities of textiles through the use of natural materials and found objects. His expertise spans hands-on weaving techniques, including finger knitting, crochet, and domestic knitting machines, exploring material tensions to create spontaneous sculptural pieces. These works seamlessly merge innovative aesthetics with art and fashion, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, nature, and the organic fluidity of movement.
Alex’s creations have been featured in British Vogue, Dazed, Grazia, Wonderland, Luncheon Magazine, PAP Magazine, and more.
